paying it forward

At Blue Finch Studios, we are grateful for the warm reception we have gotten as we dip our toe into the world of blogging and etsy selling. Below are three blogs/websites who were kind enough to give us a shout out and generate some traffic to our site(s). Until last week, I was unaware of these three awesome places so I want to pay it forward and share them with YOU.

The Bump (which is an off shoot of the wedding site The Knot). The Bump is all things baby. I am past that stage in life so I did not even know of it's existence. Tons of clicking around to be done over there.

Thanks to the Tidy Mom, she also gave us some linky-love. I love the sites she listed just today. So much goodness in the blogosphere.

what's inside...

This cute little box?? Let's start by filling you in on a secret...this is an Altoids mint tin, re- purposed as a cute gift box. I simply cut some scrapbook paper to size, rounded the corners and attached it on the lid, the bottom, and on the inside of the lid with Mod Podge.

Open it up to reveal a home for some super sweet gift tags!!

I punched holes in each corner and for the top one, threaded it through the tag.

The remainder of the string is hiding in the bottom, under the tags. I folded up some cardstock to prop my tags up making the tin look full, and also creating a place for the string.

These tins can easily hold 8-12 tags plus string or ribbon.

I printed 4 flying bird cards on cardstock, cut them out, folded them and added simple white envelopes. (If you wanted to take it a step further, you could print a sheet of mailing labels and affix each one to the envelopes.) I placed these inside a cello bag, tied it up with some ribbon and hung a tag from a small safety pin. Totally easy but very cute, right?! And can you beat that handwritten message from my 7 year old?
